I build custom AI for professional services, home services, and government teams. Not off-the-shelf tools. Real implementations that earn their keep.
Most engagements start with a 2-week AI opportunity audit. No commitment beyond that.
2.5x
Lead conversion lift
AI-driven conversational lead nurturing replaced a static funnel.
30%
Call-center spend cut
AI texting bot saved an enterprise client 30% on a multi-million-dollar monthly call center.
$36M
Acquisition contribution
Led transformation of a crowdsourced inspection app, contributing to a $36M acquisition.
Millions
Interactions handled
Scalable SMS and voice systems processing millions of interactions monthly.
Engagements
Two paths. Both start with a two-week opportunity audit.
The audit is how I get inside your operation: two weeks shadowing your team, building working prototypes on your real data, and walking leadership through a short list of AI use cases worth pursuing. No commitment after. From there we pick the path that fits.
Path 01 · Strategy
Fractional AI Leadership
Embedded with your leadership team for the calls only an experienced AI product leader can make: where to invest, what to measure, what to ship, and what to kill. I help you set the roadmap, design the evaluation strategy, weigh vendor and build decisions, and shape the team and roles around the work.

Custom AI Build
I build the thing. RAG systems, evaluation frameworks, document search, conversational interfaces, SMS and voice automation. Production-ready on your stack, integrated with your existing tools, tested against domain-expert standards.

A client story
Sales Made Simple · Wholesale distribution
Building Audrey, a vertical AI assistant for wholesale distribution.
Sales Made Simple was building Audrey, a conversational AI assistant for wholesale distributor reps. In a space where most teams ship conversational AI and hope for the best, the team needed someone who could build the systems that let them know whether it was actually working.
I designed the Quality Flywheel framework (DETECT, DIAGNOSE, FIX, VALIDATE) and the methodology the team now uses for RAG and LLM evaluation end-to-end. That includes the automated scoring rubric, the manual QA rubric, a failure-categorization system that routes issues to the right team (content, retrieval, engineering, tone), and a ground-truth test set validated by domain experts. It's the AI audit layer of the product.
On the product side, I authored the PRD for the web content ingestion pipeline, defined a load testing strategy that scored response quality under load rather than just throughput, and held the line on scope during beta so the core product could harden before features piled on. Beyond the build, I advised on go-to-market, long-term team structure, and the QA/SME role that now sits between conversation data and engineering.
The short version: I don't ship AI we can't measure.
Step 01
Measure
Before changing anything, I sit with your domain experts and build a scorecard of what "good" looks like. Not a vibes check. A real library of questions with correct answers.
Step 02
Diagnose
When the system gets something wrong, we don't guess why. Each miss gets categorized so the right person fixes the right thing.
Step 03
Change one thing
One adjustment at a time, tied to a specific metric it should move. No mystery wins, no silent regressions.
Step 04
Re-score, then ship
Run the scorecard again. Ships only if the numbers hold. The question library grows with every engagement.

About Joe
The person behind the work.
AI product leader with 10 years shipping AI into production. My job is the strategic layer: where to invest, what to measure, what to ship and what to kill. I stay close enough to the build that the plan survives contact with real data.
Most of my work sits at the intersection of AI and large-scale communication systems. I've helped clients lift lead conversion 2.5x with AI nurturing, cut multi-million-dollar call-center spend by 30% with an AI texting bot, and led product on Audrey, a vertical AI assistant for wholesale distribution, where I designed the evaluation framework and advised the team on go-to-market and org structure. The part I care most about is where AI quietly stops working, and what it takes to know before a customer does.
Based in Oklahoma City. Working with companies nationally.
